Land:
GENERAL Booking conditions for Avia Travel
DEPOSITS
A deposit of $150.00 per person is required to confirm space. Your deposit will be returned
immediately if space is not available.
FINAL PAYMENT
Final payment of the land arrangements should be made 75 days prior to departure. Failure
to comply with this requirement may result in automatic cancellation of your reservation and
the forfeit deposits.
CANCELLATIONS
All tour monies received will be refunded in full for any cancellation received in writing up
to 61 days prior to departure, less, an administrative fee of 100.00 per person. A cancellation
charge of $300.00 per person will be incurred for changes or
cancellations made between 31-59 days before departure, and 400.00 for cancellations received 30
days or less prior to departure. These charges are in addition to cancellation charges, if any,
from any local supplier, Penalties on airfares vary according to rules and regulations of the
fare used.
Full land cost will be assessed if cancellations are received on day of departure.
REFUNDS
Unused or changed hotel accommodations, transportation or other services or features of the
tour are neither refundable nor exchangeable. In the event tour participants fall short of
minimum number of passengers, tour participants will be offered alternative departures or
full refunds.
LAND COSTS
Cost of land arrangements is quoted in US dollars and is based on tariffs and rates of
exchange in effect on date of quotation. Cost of land arrangements are subject to adjustment
if exchange rates fluctuate. Land prices for Special Groups are quoted on a net basis and are
subject to change if the group size falls below the category as quoted. Land costs are subject
to change based on date of departure.
AIR TRANSPORTATION
Air arrangements are based on schedules and fares in effect at time of quotation and are
subject to change without notice. For land only groups, please submit your confirmed air
schedule to AVIA when available. AVIA Tours cannot be held responsible for missed transfers
and services due to incorrect or missing flight information.
HOTELS
Accommodations are based on two persons sharing a double-bedded room with private bath at
the hotels listed in the itineraries or similar grade hotel unless otherwise indicated.
Single rooms are available at a supplemental cost, and must be requested at the time of
booking. An individual tour member requesting accommodations on a sharing basis is subject
to payment of the single room supplement, unless another single tour member is available
to share. Triple rooms may be available upon request.
TRANSFERS
All transfers are by private, air-conditioned motorcar unless otherwise indicated. Transfers
are provided for all passengers who arrive and depart on group flights.
Passengers arriving
and departing independently are responsible for their own transfers.
BAGGAGE
To/from the USA, baggage is limited to 2 pieces of luggage, the combined total dimension of
both bags to exceed 35 kilograms (77lbs.) One or more pieces of carry-on luggage are allowed,
the total combined dimension not to exceed 45 inches. Within the Orient, free baggage allowance
on board aircraft is 20 kilograms (44lbs.) per person. These regulations are strictly enforced
by the airline. All excess baggage charges will be collected at the airport. Baggage handling
will be provided wherever possible. Government regulations in airports require each individual
passenger to carry his/her own luggage through the Customs Inspection area. For some portions
of the tour, an overnight bag only will be transferred due to technical reasons. Baggage is at
"owner's risk" throughout the tour. AVIA is not responsible for lost or damaged baggage.
Baggage insurance is recommended.
TAXES, SERVICE AND GRATUITIES
The cost of the tour includes government and local taxes and service charges on all service
included in the itineraries. Orient airport taxes are excluded.
OPTIONAL TOURS
All optional tours mentioned in the itineraries are available for purchase at the hospitality
desk and/or from out local staff in each city.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
A valid passport is required for all tour participants. Visas are required for U.S. and
Canadian citizens visiting China, Taiwan and Indonesia. Visa regulations for foreign countries
occasionally change. Please check with the respective Consulates for the most current visa
regulations. Passengers are required to obtain their own proper travel documents prior to
departure. AVIA will not be responsible for alternate or additional land and or air arrangements
or costs resulting from improper documentation.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
Health requirements of travel to the Orient change constantly. We recommend that you check
with your local public health authorities for up-to-date information.
TOUR FARE DOES NOT INCLUDE
Meals not specified in the itinerary, optional tours, charges for passports, visas,
vaccinations and inoculations, laundry, liquor, excess baggage charges, accident and
baggage insurance, telephone or cable charges, private non-group transfer, items of a
personal nature, and any items not specifically listed as included.
RESPONSIBILITY
AVIA gives notice that all tickets and coupons issued by them and all arrangements for
transport or conveyance, or for hotel accommodations are made by them as agents upon the
express condition that they shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay
or irregularities which may be occasioned either by reason or by defect in any vehicle or
through the act or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger, or
in carrying out the arrangements of the tour(s), or otherwise in connection therewith, or of
any hotel proprietor or servant. AVIA and/or associated companies accept no responsibility for
losses or additional expenses due to delays or changes in flight, train, steamer, or other
services, sickness, weather, strikes, war, quarantine, other causes or acts of God. All tour
itineraries and fares may be affected by alterations in steamship, air or railroad services of
the various countries, or by other causes. The right is reserved to withdraw any tour announced
in this program, substitute hotels, and to make such alteration in the itineraries as may be
found desirable for the convenience of the parties, and the proper carrying out of the tour(s).
The right is also reserved to decline to accept or to retain any person as a member of any tour
at any time. All fares shown are based on the present value of foreign currencies in relation to
the U.S. dollar, and in current tariffs, and are subject to confirmation or adjustment
(either way), until day of departure. The right is reserved to cancel the tour prior to
departure. In such case, full refund of all payments will constitute full settlement with
the passenger. The airlines concerned are not held responsible for any act, omission or event
during the time passengers are not on board their planes or conveyance. The passenger contract
in use by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the
airline and purchaser of these tours and/or passenger. Any and/or all transportation companies
here in mentioned shall have or incur no responsibility or liability to any traveler aside
from their liability as common carriers.
Trip cancellations and medical insurance are always highly recommended.
