The Morris Way — 9 Days/8 Nights

This is a family of 6 who is willing to brave the elements in December when temperatures are below freezing in Beijing. With young members in the group, we took special care to include the Pandas in Beijing Zoo, Hutongs by rickshaw in Beijing, limestone caves in Guilin, time in Yangshuo to bike, shop and explore on own.

Day 1: Arrive Beijing
Our guide will meet and transfer to Qianmen Hotel.

Day 2: Beijing (B,L)
Private guide/driver and mini van for tour of Tiananmen Sq, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven. Overnight at Qianmen Hotel.

Day 3: Beijing (B,L)
Today is an exciting day for a visit to the Simitai section of the Great Wall. Our guide will pick you up early in the day as the drive one way is 110 km. On this day you want to make sure that you have bottled water, a hat, and a back-pack so that you can have both hands free as some sections of the wall are steep. Return to Beijing late afternoon. Overnight at Qianmen Hotel.

Day 4: Beijing/Xian (BL)
In the morning visit the Beijing zoo, to visit the Panda enclosure. In the afternoon visit Hutongs and depart by overnight train #T41, departs Beijing at 5.10pm. (You can purchase dinner on board dinning car, or if you wish bring a box dinner from local restaurant).

Day 5: Arrival into Xian (B,L)
Train arrives Xian at 6.47am. Our guide will pick you up and transfer to hotel for breakfast and then proceed for tour of Terra Cotta Warriors, Banpo museum, and Wild Goose Pagoda. Overnight at Tangcheng Hotel.

Day 6: Xian/Guilin (B,L)
After breakfast, check out of hotel and proceed for tour of the New Provincial Museum. After an early lunch, transfer to airport for China Northwest flight leaving at 1:30pm, and arrives Guilin at 3:10pm. Our guide will pick up and include a visit to the famous Reed Flute caves and Fubo Hill before checking into the Guilin Plaza hotel.

Day 7: Yangshuo (B,L)
In the morning proceed on a cruise on the Li River Cruise and early afternoon disembark at Yangshuo. Yangshuo is a small city with lots of shops, restaurants to explore on your own. Renting a bicycle to explore neighbouring village is an option (if weather/time permits.) Overnight at Yangshuo Paradise Resort .

Day 8: Shanghai (B,L)
After breakfast, our guide will pick up up at 10:00am to Guilin (about 90mins drive) for flight China Easter #5344 that departs Gulin at 1:15pm, and arrives in Shanghai at 3:20pm. Transfer to Rainbow Hotel.. You may want to explore Nanjing Road and its stores for some last minute shopping before heading home, or check out the "Bund", Shanghai's waterfront.

Day 9: Home (B)
Departure transfer to airport.
